fit perfectly and ran fine when I installed mine two years ago into the 300degree rail. But as far as the clips go, it was a while back, so my memory isn't perfect, but I think I did have to trim a little off each clip so it wouldn't hit the rail. Infact I'm almost positive I did have to do that with a dreml before splicing them in. It must not have been a big deal cause I don't even remember it fully. Oh and the two wires can go to either side. They are not polar.
